Quotes are very powerful. On the surface, they are just a bunch of words but when you ponder over them they reveal powerful ideas that resonate with your very core. Quotes tend to be simplistic and easy to remember and they echo what is in our hearts. With exams around the corner, hopefully these quotes will inspire both parents and children alike to work hard but also to be good to yourself.

Last Wednesday, we dressed up in our Wacky Wednesday clothes. The children had the most interesting interpretation and everyone looked great in their wacky outfits.  The Grade 4’s had the task of unpacking and stacking, then repacking the food.

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to the Little Angels Daycare. The response was overwhelming. The handover was completed on Monday afternoon. Once again thank you! [read more]

2020 Was a very tough year for most of us.

Things did not go the way we wanted, planned, or dreamt it would be. We have so many excuses for why we cannot reach our full potential this year. If we do badly in the exams, fortunately we can blame it on 2020!

Everybody will understand.

Really? Do we have any valid excuse?

The struggles of our lives:

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it.

He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. [read more]

The Importance of Honesty

There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting the right amount, which he wasn’t. Angry about this, he took the farmer to court.

The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure to weight the butter. The farmer replied, “Your Honour, I am primitive. I don’t have a proper measure, but I do have a scale.”

The judge asked, “Then how do you weigh the butter?” [read more]

In assembly on Monday, I shared some knowledge about the RAS with the learners that I discovered many years ago.  The (RAS) Reticular Activating System is a network of neurons located in the brain stem that project anteriorly to the hypothalamus to mediate behavior, as well as both posteriorly to the thalamus.

The reticular activating system is the part of the brain that maintains the sleep/wake cycle. Any damage to this region can cause hypersomnolence and drowsiness.

It’s the part of the brain that accepts everything without question.  So, the last thing that you tell yourself or that your brain has just heard, it believes to be true.  If you tell yourself for example “I am always late”, guess what……. You will always be late!!!  Conversely, if you tell yourself “I am always early or on time, then you will be early or on time. [read more]
