This week Miss Rossouw gave us a wonderful message in assembly about thinking before you speak or act. We encouraged our learners to follow these few steps to help them think before they speak: T=Is it true? H=Is it helpful? I= Is it important? N=Is it necessary? K=Is it kind? Lessons to learn from nature.
While talking to a group of teenagers about being responsible citizens, I realised that they all have this incredible notion that they each individually want to save the world, but they have no actual idea of working as a collective to do so. Here is a perfect example of how it works in nature when animals work together for the good of the whole group. [read more]

How to Define Yourself
Every teenager at some point or another, struggles to figure out who they truly are. Often when they define themselves they focus on their negative aspects or on how they compare to other teenagers. [read more]
This week our learners got advice from a tree, which may sound strange but is quite meaningful. Our learners were encouraged to stand tall and proud; go out on a limb; remember their roots; drink plenty of water; be content with their natural beauty and enjoy the view.
