This is a story of two friends who were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand;

“Today my best friend slapped me in the face.”

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone;

“Today my best friend saved my life.”

“After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?” [read more]

We have come to the end of week 7 of the E-Learning process, and a great well done from all the teachers of the Primary School. The children have been absolute super stars during this uncertain time! We are so proud of all of you. It is important that children still follow a well – structured routine at home as they would if they went to school. They should still go to bed at a reasonable time and have their daily chores set out for them after school. This will help them ease back into being at school once the time comes for them to go back. The obstacle in our path

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. He then hid himself and watched to see if anyone would move the boulder out of the way. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.

Many people loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone out of the way. [read more]

Once again we would like to thank all of you for your on-going support and patience during our e-learning programme. We know it hasn’t been easy for many learners and parents, as working from home has been a challenge during lockdown. Our learners are used to their home being a place where they can relax, watch TV or play games, not do school work all day. E-learning is something new for all of us, learners, teachers and parents alike. Regardless of the challenges that we have faced over these last few weeks, just know that you are all doing an amazing job. [read more]

  • Be kind to yourself. Some people are better at dealing with uncertainties than others, so do not beat yourself up if your tolerance for unpredictability is lower than a friend’s. Remind yourself that it might take time for the stressful situation to resolve and be patient with yourself in the meantime. [read more]

Life as we know it has changed a lot. A new normal is waiting for all. With this in mind, I would like to share with you a post that I read this morning. It is a quote by Shelby Condo

Life changes so quickly

We can be happy one day, empty and broken the next

If we learn anything from this pandemic, I hope it is to value the moments, treasure the memories and hold onto what counts.

Make time each day to realize how fleeting life is and to be thankful for each blessing.

Maybe this pandemic will teach us to slow down, appreciate what we have and how quickly it can be gone.

Life is a gift.
